3. Birthday -- Anna Johanna Geiser Treuthardt, February 7,1847

Today is my great-grandmother's birthday.    Anna Johanna Geiser was born in 1847 in Roggwyl, Switzerland.   She was married to Friedrich Treuthardt at Lavigny, Vaud Canton, Switzerland, in 1871.   Anna was 13 years younger than her husband.   They lived at Aubonne, Vaud Canton, at the black powder mill in the miller's house.    They had three children, but one died.   The Treuthardts left Switzerland around September 1883, arriving in New York.    They settled in Central Texas around September-October, 1883.

She was my father's grandmother.    She was a good grandmother to her Krieg and Treuthardt grandchildren.   Her granddaughter Anna Krieg Fuessel told me she was a GOOD cook and baked the best Swiss pastries.    Anna was a good businesswoman as well.

Her husband predeceased her by 29 years.    She died in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas in 1936.   She is buried next to her husband at the IOOF Cemetery.
